How do I find my unweighted GPA on PowerSchool?▾
PowerSchool may not always display your unweighted GPA directly. To calculate it, convert each letter grade to a standard 4.0 scale (A=4.0, B=3.0, C=2.0, D=1.0) and average all your courses. This calculator does it automatically.
What is a weighted GPA on PowerSchool?▾
A weighted GPA gives extra grade points for advanced courses. On PowerSchool, Honors courses typically get +0.5 points and AP/IB courses get +1.0 points. So an A in an AP class counts as 5.0 instead of 4.0.
Can my weighted GPA be above 4.0?▾
Yes. Because AP and Honors courses add bonus points, your weighted GPA can exceed 4.0 — often up to 5.0 if you take all AP courses with straight A's.
